SGSS members participated in the Mie Prefecture 34th Annual Senior High School English Speech, Skit and Composition Contest.
The composition contest was held on September 21st at Yokkaichi Nishi High School, followed by the speech and skit contests on October 5th at the Mie Culture Center.
Four SGSS members, Koshi Uchida, Shunki Ito, Sawa Muraoka, and Yuna Yamanaka, entered the English composition contest as Team Kossy.
On the event day, the participants were given a story-based theme and had 120 minutes to work together in their groups to write about it.
The assignment was to create a continuation of the scene where a UFO landed on the top of Mt. Fuji. As a result of the team members working together, Team Kossy got the third prize in eleven groups.
Team Kossy received the certificate at the awards ceremony in the afternoon of October 5th.
Furthermore, 5th-year students Eita Hamaguchi and Sawa Muraoka participated in the speech contest held on October 5th.
Speakers could choose any topic, and each speech should be 4 minutes and 30 seconds to 5 minutes and 30 seconds long.
The speech contest was an individual competition, and Sawa Muraoka won the third prize.
SGSS members will continue to participate actively in similar English activities!
